Did You Miss Me?

Did You Miss Me?

Hello to all my followers, especially the ones who have been around since the beginning!!! It’s been quite a while! I figured I’d show you a picture of me just in case you forgot, LOL. There has been so much going on in the world in general AND in my world. Let me catch you all up to speed. As many of you know, I work full-time as a Nutritionist and have a part-time makeup business. COVID has impacted many people and small businesses in the past, and some are just now playing catch up from that two-year period of no income.

I lost my job (in North Carolina) last year due to COVID, but by God’s grace, he gave me a NEW one… in Maryland. Yes, I said Maryland! During the time of my unemployment, I was able to sit and think, and I had an epiphany. For the past three years, I’ve been struggling with how to incorporate makeup, skincare, and nutrition… and By George, I think I got it!!

All of my social media accounts and website will encompass all three paths. Many people are probably wondering how you are going to do that, Asia. Well, let me share. When you think of skincare, think of it this way. What goes in must come out. I am not referring to excretion at this point. I am simply sharing that whatever good or bad foods we put in our systems, it will show on the outside through our skin.

Did you know that your skin is the LARGEST organ your body has? The skin’s main function is protection. It forms a physical barrier between the external factors (bacteria, chemicals, and temperature) and the internal environment that it serves to protect and maintain. One way of protecting our bodies is through proper nutrition. The better the diet, the better off you will be when an external factor tries to attack.

Everyone wants to be “enhanced” at some point, whether it’s for a birthday celebration, wedding, or date night. If your skin has not had the proper nutrition and hasn’t been cared for, your makeup application will NOT look its best. Going forward, I will be incorporating skincare, makeup, and nutrition tips on my social media account.

I have joined Limelife by Alcone AND I am a Doterra Wellness Advocate. For many who may not have heard of either, let me share a little quick tidbit about both. Limelife by Alcone began as a stage makeup company in 1952 for those in theater. It grew to what it is today, an organic skincare and makeup company. Doterra is known for its PURE therapeutic grade of essential oils. What many people don’t know about Doterra is that they have a knack for creating products that are nutritionally beneficial to the body in many ways.

So as you see, nutrition, skincare, and makeup can coexist together. In the upcoming months, you can expect to learn which foods and essential oils are most beneficial for the skin and which Limelife skincare products will work best for your skin type. Just in case you forgot, My name is Asia Thurston. I am a D(M)VI traveling Makeup Artist focused on S.K.I. N. (self-care and knowledge that integrates nutrition) because beauty is more than skin deep. I can’t wait to share with you and the world this new business venture!!
