Brown Sugar and Honey Scrub

Brown Sugar and Honey Scrub

Did you know that exfoliating should be done weekly? Exfoliation is the process of removing old dead skin cells that are sitting on your skin’s surface. It creates a smoother appearance and allows moisturizer, body butters, oils, or serums to penetrate the skin. Exfoliation helps the skin in a couple of ways:

  1. If you have hyperpigmentation, it assists in lightening the dark spots.
  2. When you wear makeup, it helps to get rid of any excess product on the face after washing.

Well How Do You Make It?

There are so many ways to make this brown sugar and honey scrub. Some people add vanilla extract, oils or scents to it. Well, for me, I just want to KISS (keep it simple stupid). I use only 3 ingredients: brown sugar, honey, and olive oil.

Ingredients:

2-3 Tablespoons Brown Sugar

2-3 Tablespoons Olive Oil

Honey in 1 Tablespoon Increments

Directions:

Step 1:

Mix 2-3 tablespoons of brown sugar and 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil together.

Step 2:

Add 1 tablespoon of honey in increments. Keep adding honey until you have a gooey and slightly sticky mix.

Step 3:

Apply to a clean face and gently scrub for 1-2 minutes concentrating on the rough patches.

Step 4:

Wash scrub off with warm water and follow with a moisturizer.

*This process can be repeated once to twice a week for best results. Honey is a natural antibacterial, the oil is a moisturizer, and the brown sugar is the exfoliant.
